A Gift of a Lifetime

Our children gave us a gift certificate for a bed and breakfast in Conway, NH in honor of our temple sealing in November of 2008. Art and I "spent" our coupon this past weekend. We had a marvellous time. It was so peaceful just to be together without any responsibilities except to walk the dog. We drove from nearly the Maine border to nearly the Vermont border. It was rainy with lowering clouds. Even when we were at the base of Crawford Notch we couldn't see the tops of the peaks, so didn't fully grasp the grandeur of the location. However, when we drove Route 112 from Woodsville to Woodstock, we were AFRAID. Neither of us had ever been along that route, and we were impressed by the wildness of the Moosilauke area. When we crossed the Bath covered bridge we were delighted by a sign that warned us not to let our cattle across at anything more than a walk, under the peril of a $100 fine. We donned out Hillcrest zip code T's to have our pictures taken on the bridge.
